Baird Holm has 42 attorneys listed in the Best Lawyers in America 2009. Best Lawyers compiles lists of outstanding attorneys by conducting exhaustive peer-review surveys in which thousands of leading lawyers confidentially evaluate their professional peers.
Because lawyers are not required or allowed to pay a fee to be included, a listing in Best Lawyers is widely regarded within the legal profession as a signal honor, conferred on a lawyer by his or her peers. For 25 years, Best Lawyers lists have earned the respect of the profession, the media, and the public, as the most reliable, unbiased source of legal referrals anywhere.
Chambers USA
For the fourth year in a row, Baird Holm has earned top-tier rankings in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, 2009 – The Client’s Guide.
Baird Holm is the only Nebraska law firm to be listed in Band 1 (the highest tier) in all four categories used by Chambers USA to evaluate a law firm’s performance for the third year in a row. The categories are corporate/mergers & acquisitions; employment; litigation, health care and real estate. Chambers client guide books are used throughout the world by those seeking legal services.
To arrive at the rankings, London-based Chambers & Partners, Legal Publishers, conducted more than 10,000 interviews with clients and attorneys across the nation. Chambers ranks firms by state. Law firms and individual attorneys are ranked in bands on a scale of 1-6, with 1 being the best. The qualities on which rankings are assessed include technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial awareness/astuteness, diligence, commitment and other qualities most valued by the client.
Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rated
Many of our attorneys have received the highest Peer Review Ratings (AV) by Martindale-Hubbell. According to Martindale.com, an AV® certification mark is a significant rating accomplishment - a testament to the fact that a lawyer's peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence. A lawyer must be admitted to the bar for 10 years or more to receive an AV® rating.
Super Lawyers
Baird Holm has 34 attorneys listed as 2009 Great Plains Super Lawyers. This is more than any other firm included on the list, which lists Super Lawyers from Iowa, Nebraska, and North and South Dakota.
Super Lawyers is a list of attorneys from more than 70 practice areas who have been selected as outstanding attorneys because they have attained a high level of peer recognition and professional achievement. Each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. Selections are made on an annual, state-by-state basis. According to their Web site, the objective of Super Lawyers is to create a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of attorneys, which can then be used by attorneys and consumers when searching for legal counsel.
The polling, research and selection of Super Lawyers is performed by Law & Politics, a publication of Key Professional Media, Inc. Law & Politics has been publishing legal magazines since 1990 and Super Lawyers since 1991. The 2009 Great Plains Super Lawyers list was published in the June/July 2009 issue of Minnesota Law & Politics.
