Recruiting and Diversity

Recruiting minority and female attorneys is essential to the Firm's long-term success of serving the needs of its clients. We actively seek qualified minority candidates by recruiting at historically minority law schools and recruiting at national and regional minority recruiting conferences such as the Cook County Illinois Minority Career Fair.  More importantly, we offer the resources and opportunities for all of our associates to succeed at the Firm and to become active in the community.

Women at Baird Holm

Female attorneys excel at Baird Holm. The Firm has a long history of hiring female attorneys and promoting them to partner.

Women are represented in leadership positions throughout the Firm. Female partners serve as section leaders of one-fourth of the Firm's practice sections and manage the relationships with many of Baird Holm's 25 largest clients. Female partners chair the Diversity Committee and the Women's Initiative. A female associate has served as the Summer Associate Coordinator for seven consecutive years. As of 2011, 35 percent of our associate attorneys and 27 percent of our partners are women.

In its March/April 2011 edition, Omaha Magazine published the list of Omaha attorneys named “2011 Best Lawyers in America.” Seven of the 20 female attorneys, or 35 percent of the female attorneys, listed as Omaha’s Best Lawyers are Baird Holm attorneys. Best Lawyers are rated based on exhaustive peer review surveys and lawyers are not required or allowed to pay a fee to be included in the listing.

Baird Holm also sponsors an internal organization for its female partners and associates known as the Women's Initiative. This group meets periodically to review issues of interest to women and to enhance business development opportunities for women.
