Description -
As the H1N1 influenza spreads across the nation, employers face unique challenges as they seek to ensure business continuity, while maintaining a safe work environment. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) it is impossible to predict with any certainty the severity and extent of illness that may result from H1N1 flu during the 2009-2010 flu season. Therefore, employers need to know how to apply the various employment laws into a flexible pandemic plan should the severity or prevalence of the outbreak change.
This webinar examines the H1N1 virus, workplace strategies for prevention, the relevant employment laws implicated in a workforce strategy, and practical advice on how to implement a plan should it become necessary.
The webinar specifically covers:
- Business continuity planning
- ADA/ADAAA
- General attendance policies
- FMLA/Other leave policies
- Mandatory medical examinations
- Vaccinations
- Workers' compensation
- OSHA
- Prevention mechanisms
