Jon Blumenthal is a member of the firm's Real Estate, Secured Lending and Bankruptcy sections. He primarily represents clients with respect to real estate and secured lending, including the purchase and sale of real estate, construction planning, financing matters, foreclosures, leasing, bankruptcy/workouts and insolvency matters. He also advises clients about general business issues.

In 1996, Mr. Blumenthal was conferred a Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law, where he served as a member of the Kansas Journal of Law and Public Policy.  Mr. Blumenthal currently serves on the Nebraska State Bar Association's Real Estate Practice Guidelines Committee, and completed the Nebraska State Bar Association's inaugural Leadership Academy in 2007.

Mr. Blumenthal was named one of Ten Outstanding Young Omahans by the Omaha Jaycees in 2004 and was a recipient of the Midlands Business Journal's 40 Under 40 Award for 2004.  Mr. Blumenthal served as the Firm's hiring partner from 2003-2007. He was also listed in the The Best Lawyers in America® 2011 (copyright 2010 by Woodward/White, Inc., Aiken, SC) for his work in Real Estate Law.  

Selected Practice Highlights

  • Represented the developer of Nebraska's first privately developed C-BED wind energy project, an 80 megawatt wind project in Bloomfield, Nebraska
  • Represented banks and insurance companies in connection with secured loans totaling in excess of $500 million
  • Represented franchisor in forty-site real estate sale
  • Successfully handled numerous bankruptcy cases for creditors
  • Advised numerous businesses regarding real estate sale, purchase, land use and leasing issues
  • Represented one of Omaha's fastest-growing companies with respect to the purchase of its new manufacturing facility
