Kelly R. Dahl practices in the areas of commercial litigation, environmental law, white collar criminal defense, advises clients with respect to a variety of complex regulatory programs and is rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America 2009 for his work in Environmental Law and Commercial Litigation and in Great Plains Super Lawyers 2009 for Business Litigation. He is a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association and has served as the Chair for its Natural Resources and Environmental Law Section and as Chair of the Committee on Civil Practice and Procedure. Mr. Dahl also is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, the Iowa State Bar Association and its Sections of Litigation and Natural Resources and Environmental Law, the United States Supreme Court Bar, and the American Bar Association and its Sections on Litigation; Natural Resources, Energy and Environmental Law; and Tort and Insurance Law. He was an adjunct professor at the Creighton University School of Law where he taught Legal Research and Writing and Trial Practice.
Selected Practice Highlights
- Represented direct marketer defending a nationwide class action matter in California
- Defended one of the nation's largest livestock producers in a class action case in which the plaintiffs sought to enjoin the producer's operations
- Obtained a jury verdict against the principals of a company regarding a transaction involving the allocation of anti-dumping duties resulting from the import of goods from China
- Obtained summary judgment for a publicly traded company in a securities case in which the plaintiff was seeking ten million dollars in damages
- Obtained summary judgment for a large general aviation insurer on a coverage matter arising from a plane crash
- Represented a global pharmaceutical manufacturer with respect to environmental regulatory and enforcement matters
- Represented global agri-finance company with respect to environmental aspects of lending transactions and other compliance issues
- Defended a bank officer and shareholder who was acquitted of bank fraud and false statement charges resulting from an FDIC examination
- Represented U.S. manufacturers and distributors with respect to product recalls involving negotiations with firms in Taiwan and Australia
