R.J. (Randy) Stevenson is a partner and Chair of the firm's Labor, Employment and Employee Benefits Law Group.  He has represented private and public employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, including wrongful discharge, discrimination, sexual harassment, whistle blower and labor-management litigation; Occupational Safety and Health Administration proceedings; unfair labor practice charges and other proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board; union organizing campaigns; labor negotiations; arbitrations and proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, state anti-discrimination agencies and wage/hour compliance agencies.

Mr. Stevenson is named in The Best Lawyers in America and Great Plains Super Lawyers, is listed in Chambers USA, and is "AV" rated by Martindale-Hubbell. He is also past Chair of the Nebraska State Bar Association’s Labor Relations and Employment Law Section.  Additionally, he has served on the boards of numerous community, professional, civic and church groups and has been an Adjunct Faculty member at Creighton University’s School of Law. Mr. Stevenson has given over 100 presentations to employers and attorneys on current labor and employment law issues.

Selected Practice Highlights

  • Defeated attempts by various unions across the country to organize clients' workforces in a variety of industries; successfully handled all related litigation before the NLRB
  • Successfully represented employers throughout the country who received OSHA citations and penalties, including citations and penalties associated with over a dozen workplace fatalities; obtained the complete withdrawal of numerous citations and penalties at both the informal conference stage and in litigation
  • Routinely works with employers to avoid litigation, having trained many supervisors and managers
