Baird Holm provides legal advice to schools on a wide range of issues including personnel matters, labor relations, constitutional concerns, public meetings and public records law issues, student discipline questions, financial issues, legislation, special education legal requirements, construction contracts, contracts with vendors, pension and retirement plan problems and concerns regarding the investment of school funds.
Baird Holm is general counsel for the Omaha Public Schools, regularly advises the Council Bluffs Community School District and also represents other school districts in Nebraska. Our attorneys practicing in this area of law are all members of the National School Boards Association Council of School Attorneys, a national organization of over 3,000 attorneys serving school boards, and have earned national recognition for excellence in education law.
Our attorneys practicing in this area are also members of the Nebraska Council of School Attorneys. One Baird Holm attorney has served as the Chairman of the National School Boards Association Council of School Attorneys, another is currently on the Board of Directors of the National School Boards Association Council of School Attorneys and two of our attorneys have headed the Nebraska Council of School Attorneys.
