Wage and Hour Challenge
Allison D. Balus
In 2022, the Department of Labor found FLSA overtime violations in almost 6,000 audits of employers, and assessed that those employers collectively owed almost $134 million in back wages. That’s an average of almost $23,000 per audit. Of course, that’s cheap compared to what employers who cannot successfully defend wage and hour lawsuits have to pay in damages and attorney fees. All of this is why compliance with the FLSA is so essential for employers. How well do you know the nuances of this federal law that dates back to 1938? Take the 2023 Baird Holm Wage and Hour Law Challenge!
Pregnancy Discrimination

On December 29, 2022, President Biden signed two bills into law aimed at enhancing protections for pregnant and nursing parents in the workplace: the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA) and the Providing Urgent Maternal Protections (PUMP) for Nursing Mothers Act (PUMP Act). Join our extremely qualified panelists as they explain what these new laws mean for employers across the country, and revisit the protections historically afforded pregnant workers.
