Hannah Fischer Frey’s practice focuses on corporate transactions, federal and state tax planning issues, tax exempt matters, and estate planning. Hannah has addressed complex partnership taxation issues, specifically including the impacts of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and the implementation of the partnership audit rules imposed by the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2015. She frequently assists clients in maximizing tax efficiencies with respect to business reorganizations, mergers, and acquisitions and has been closely involved in numerous federal income tax audits as well as state sales tax audits. Hannah also advises individuals and businesses regarding succession planning, specifically focusing on estate and gift tax planning for the transfer of property or a business to a new generation. In addition to her business clients, Hannah regularly assists nonprofit organizations in state incorporation, Form 1023 applications for exemption from federal income tax, and ongoing analysis of compliance with IRS guidance for both public charities and private foundations.

Hannah has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” for the Great Plains region and is currently pursuing her LL.M. in Taxation at the New York University School of Law. Hannah graduated from the Creighton University School of Law in 2015, summa cum laude. While in law school, she was the Executive Editor of the Creighton Law Review and received the Judge Donald P. Lay Law Review Student Award for her work as a member of its Executive Board.

Prior to attending law school, Hannah became certified as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Nebraska. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree, magna cum laude, from Gustavus Adolphus College in Saint Peter, Minnesota, where she majored in Public Accounting.
