Christopher R. Hedican was named Baird Holm’s Managing Partner in May 2021, and has been a member of the firm’s Executive Committee since 2017. His practice focuses on defending all types of employment claims, including discrimination, wrongful termination, retaliation, employment torts and public policy claims. A substantial part of his practice includes non-compete, business tort, trade secret and fiduciary litigation. He also regularly handles litigation involving self-funded ERISA benefit plans, fully insured benefit plans and third party administrators. Such claims involve equitable subrogation and benefit denial. He regularly defends cases in state and federal courts for firm clients throughout the country, but particularly in the Midwest.

Chris graduated from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law in 1990. He was conferred a Master’s of Business Administration from the John M. Olin Graduate School of Business of Washington University in St. Louis in 1990. He also received a Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, from Creighton University in 1986.

Since 2003, Chris has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® in the fields of Employment Law and Labor Law. Chris was selected as Best Lawyers’ Omaha Employment Law – Management Lawyer of the Year in 2016, 2021, and 2023 and as the Labor Law – Management Lawyer of the Year in 2017 and 2024.
