David P. Kennison focuses his practice on representing management in the areas of traditional labor relations, labor grievances and arbitration, human resource counseling and training, employment discrimination, wrongful discharge and interpreting the most complex employment legislation. David also defends employers facing claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation filed under both state and federal statutes. In addition to handling a wide-variety of labor and litigation issues, he provides advice and counsel to entities aimed at prevention and avoidance of employment-based claims.
Since 2021, David has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch® in the field of Labor and Employment Law Management. In 2014, David earned his law degree from the Creighton University School of Law, magna cum laude. During law school, David was an editor of the Creighton University Law Review and was awarded the 2013 Nebraska State Bar Foundation Silver Quill Award for excellence in legal writing. He earned four CALI Excellence for the Future awards in Trusts and Estates, Copyrights, Banking Law, and Trial Practice. David is a graduate of Marquette University, where he earned a B.A. in History. Upon graduating from Marquette, David worked in the Development Department at Creighton Preparatory School in Omaha, where he also coached baseball, basketball, and football.
David is the past president of Together Omaha and a current board member at Omaha Street School and BookLoop, a childhood literacy organization.
