EEO-1 Filing Deadline Extended

on Wednesday, 23 September 2015 in Labor & Employment Law Update: Sarah M. Huyck, Editor

The EEO-1 Joint Reporting Committee has extended the deadline for the filing of this year’s EEO-1 reports until October 30, 2015. This extension was due in part to changes to the EEO-1 Form which have proven to be time-consuming for employers.

One major change is a requirement that company locations with the same address and same NAICS Code consolidate those locations into one record. Likewise, employers must provide the Employee Identification Number (EIN) for each establishment, which the government will monitor closely.

To account for the changes, and for possible confusion, employers should not wait until the end of October to complete these reports. Instead, start early, and if you have questions, contact counsel.
