Nebraska Legislature Introduces Bill to Fund Electrical Transmission Study

On January 22, 2014, Nebraska Senator Al Davis introduced Legislative Bill 1115, which seeks to appropriate $200,000 to the Nebraska Power Review Board to conduct a study of state, regional, and national transmission infrastructure and policy. The study would identify electric transmission and generation constraints and opportunities, with the goal of expanding the export of electricity generated in Nebraska by renewable and other sources of generation. The Nebraska Power Review Board would then submit the study’s results to the Executive Board of the Legislative Counsel on or before December 15, 2014.
