Navigating Dangerous Waters: How to Manage Reasonable Accommodation Requests from Tenants

Emotional support animals, assigned parking, unit transfers, and now even requests for discounted rent!  Owners and property managers face a barrage of reasonable accommodation requests from tenants and threats of Fair Housing complaints if they don’t make the “right” decision.  Scott Moore will offer a life raft to navigate those dangerous waters with practical advice on how to manage reasonable accommodation and modification requests, when a tenant is actually entitled to an accommodation or modification, and when an accommodation is simply “unreasonable.”  Scott will also discuss recent court decisions that have begun to give us answers to these complex questions.
