E-Verify Announces Availability of “Status Change Report” to Enrolled Employers Identifying Employees Impacted By EAD Revocation
On June 20, 2025, E-Verify announced the availability of a new report (Status Change Report) to aid employers in identifying whether any E-Verify cases were created with an Employment Authorization Document (“EAD”) which has since been revoked.
The Department of Homeland Security (“DHS”) is revoking EADs for certain foreign nationals whose parole has been terminated. DHS has sent direct notifications to some foreign nationals paroled into the United States informing them that their parole has been terminated and parole-based EADs have been revoked. A large group of impacted individuals include those foreign nationals paroled through the Processes for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans (“CHNV”), which usually falls under the C11 EAD code. However, not all C11 EADs issued to individuals from the relevant countries are impacted and thus it has been difficult for employers to discern whose EADs have been revoked.
This new Status Change Report will now allow employers to view aggregated case data for those employees whose EAD was revoked—including data for the EAD revocation date, case number, and A-number for affected cases. Information will be updated in the E-Verify system as DHS continues to revoke EADs, so employers are encouraged to regularly generate the Status Change Report.
To access the new Status Change Report, E-Verify employers should:
- Log into the E-Verify account
- Click the “Reports” tab at the top of the homepage
- Select the new “Status Change Report”
- Click “Run Report.” Employers will be prompted to choose from a list of revocation dates to narrow the list, if needed.
- Click “Generate Report.” The report will be available in a CSV file for easy access.
Remember, even those listed as having revoked EADs on the report must be given an opportunity to present new/updated work authorization documents. Employees may have updated valid EADs issued through a different lawful status since they were originally hired, so those listed on the report should not be immediately terminated without being given a chance to present their choice of updated unexpired documents satisfying the List of Acceptable Documents.
If employees present new/updated work authorization documents, then employers should complete reverification on Supplement B of the Form I-9, as usual. Employers are not able to accept the now-revoked EADs, based on the Status Change Report, even if the EAD appears unexpired on its face. A new E-Verify case should not be completed for reverifications. Such reverifications should be completed within a reasonable amount of time after generating the Status Change Report. E-Verify’s guidance on this new Report was most recently updated on June 24, 2025 and can be found here.
